Transfer Admission Process

Transfer students are considered for rolling admission — there’s no deadline to apply and you can be considered for fall, winter or summer admission for most of Detroit Mercy’s .  We recommend applying at least one month prior to your desired start date for scholarship opportunities.  The application fee is waived for all transfer students!

1Review Admission Requirements

Admission requirements for transfer students vary by academic program.  For specific admission requirements, please visit the academic program page for your intended major or contact the Office of Admissions. At minimum, official transcripts are required from all schools attended. High school transcripts are required for federal financial aid to be distributed but are not used in the admission process unless the applicant has less than 24 transferable college credits.  

2Submit an Application

Once you've , please send official transcripts from each school you've previously attended, including high school (required to release financial aid). Within 48 hours of receiving your transcripts, we will contact you to confirm whether additional documentation is needed for your program of study. If no other documents are necessary, you will receive an admission decision within 48 hours and you'll be on your way to the next step in your journey! Apply Now >
