Employee Loaner Program | University of Detroit Mercy IT Services

The University has a limited number of wireless notebook computers and data projectors available for short-term sign out by faculty and administrative employees attending to University business off-site.

Equipment is available on a first come, first served basis. Please call 313-993-1554 to schedule equipment. The employee will need to provide an employee ID at the time of pickup and sign a form agreeing to partner with their department and accept the financial replacement responsibility for any missing or damaged equipment.

Failure to return the equipment as scheduled will result in termination of loaner privileges and may impact fellow colleagues who are counting on the equipment being available. Replacement costs are $1500 for a notebook and $2000 for a data projector.

Options for Â鶹APP

The ITS department is unable to provide equipment by request to students or student organizations.

Â鶹APP requiring equipment for a classroom event are encouraged to go through their instructor to schedule the delivery and pick-up of the equipment based on the terms of scheduling and availability.

Student organizations are encouraged to work with the University's elected Student Senate to acquire and/or borrow the equipment.

For student organization events hosted in classrooms with built-in equipment and the faculty advisor present, built-in equipment may be turned on. The faculty member and their University department accept the fiscal responsibility for replacement if there is damage to the equipment.

Additionally, equipment may be rented from locations across the Metro-Detroit area. Please consult a phone book or web search engine for resources.
